Which type of leather is right for you?

The type of leather determines how your sofa looks, feels, and changes over the years. At Mokana, we stock several types side by side so you can compare them directly in the showroom. Africa Leather — rugged, open-grained, and full of character
Africa Leather is thick (1.3–1.5 mm), breathable, and features a clearly visible open-grained texture. No two hides are alike: you’ll see horn marks, color variations, and the natural grain—all of which are part of its charm. Africa leather evolves with you: it softens with use, develops a patina, and gains more and more character. Rugged, robust, and timeless. Perfect for industrial, rustic, or vintage interiors. Foggia leather — open-grain leather, with a slightly more even grain pattern
Foggia has the same vibrant, breathable qualities as Africa leather but with a slightly more even grain pattern and a deeper, more uniform color. Foggia combines the ruggedness of open-grain leather with a sleeker, more urban look — suitable for both industrial and modern interiors.

Kenia leather — aniline leather with a wax finish
Kenia is an open-grain aniline leather in which transparent dyes allow the natural grain to remain fully visible. The wax finish provides a subtle sheen and protects the leather without sealing the pores. Soft, warm, and breathable — ideal for those who love a luxurious, natural look.

Eco-leather — smooth, practical, and stain-resistant
Eco-leather has a smooth, closed-grain surface that repels stains and is easy to clean with a damp cloth. More scratch-resistant and colorfast than open-grain leather, and available in virtually any color. The most practical choice for families with young children or pets.

Vintage leather — a worn look from day one
Vintage leather is treated to give it an antique, worn look that normally only develops after years of use. The leather deepens in color and character the more you use it — ideal for those who love a retro or bohemian interior.

Granada leather — coated, soft, and matte
Granada is a high-quality coated leather with a fine, non-porous outer layer. It feels softer than standard eco-leather and has a slightly matte surface that looks elegant and timeless. It is extremely colorfast and easy to maintain.

Chill Line
Chill Line combines leather with adjustable reclining comfort. The sofas are handmade at DS Meubels in Beneden-Leeuwen and are fully customizable in terms of size, leather type, and motorized or battery-powered operation. Delivery time: 4 to 8 weeks.
